Gaiscioch Community News August, 2017
- Extra-Life 2017
It's time to start promoting the heck out of our campaign and see if we can get close to our goal. While our goal seems pretty aggressive I have faith that we'll be able to get close.

- Gaiscioch Flag-Football in First Person
I have decided to add Gaiscioch Flag-Football to our show lineup. I've rigged a GoPro to a Flag-Football helmet. Each week i mix down all the good plays to a short 5 minute video summary cutting out all the motion sick inducing wobbly camera work between plays. You'll be a part of the huddle in this video series and follow along as we win, lose, and claw our way to playoffs. Check it out at: http://magazine.gaiscioch.com/livestreams/gaiscioch_football/

- Life Proven Formidable
Again, I want to apologize for my absence in game. This past couple months and the next month are proving to be quite the bombardment of real life and side projects. The good news is Issue 13 is out the door so I wont be spending a huge amount of time trying to get that wrapped up. Just a couple months until Issue 14 and that's our big PAX West / Gamescom issue. It's also going to be packed with Guild Wars 2 stuff.
- Dungeon Rumming
Goat has an awesome way of explaining a fight and being patient if we all wipe. He inspires us to keep on going and persevere as well. He never loses his cool either.
- TD Cleared with full guild participation.
Thanks to DR and Jarren for excellent tanking. Everyone should be proud for completion of our first full guild Saturday TD Grind.
- 7-30-17 Recap
Another great morning crifting. I like the fact that it is more of a social event than a grind. Most everyone has gotten the hand of the marking system now. We did 25 crifts even after a slow start finding tears...
- ArenaNet made us stand in a corner.
Great time tonight - getting ready to follow Terafer out into battle and jump into Blue Borderlands. Not 2 minute in running and the yellow letters pop up "New Build in 10 Minutes" So we rush around and hit things...
- A hard fought battle.
We had to take them on even though we were one short. We started off by taking on Torn Fur, we knew from the beginning that he would be the easy one. We then made our way across the decks of the ships to the Legendary Balgren Creedbreaker, he took a bit more effort to kill...
- New Crifting Record (for me)
GREAT RUN this morning. Started with 14 guild members and finished with 19. We closed 28 crifts, that's a new record for me. previous was 26. Everyone has settled in with the mark yourself system which really speeds things up...
- The Pack of Guardians on the prowl
It was a night of torment for foes in the Mists as the intrepid band of Guardians from GSCH prowled the Borderlands. The nearly permanently swift group of stalwarts shouted their way across the lands taking towers and repelling enemy invaders...
- First For Me
Another first for me, thanks to a guild member who had signed up for the event, and dropped out so I could join. It was intense for me, but thanks to Fog and the rest of the group giving advice and suggestions it was more than fun...
- Claiming Participation
Token of Valor
A token of approval given to a leader who acts and displays Honor and Integrity. They lead family events with compassion and a calm stature and provide a clear communication channel to all participants...
- Sunday Morning Coffe and crifting
Another fun morning running with the guild. We started with 14 people and finished with 19. Tears seem to explode in our face this morning as several time a rift popped just as someone was about to use their lure? Creepy crudes got Louhi again this morning :(...
- TD Run
I did not really think I was ready to tank TD tonight...but did it! Woot!
-The Dragon, Spider and Council went very smooth. Last boss, realized a bit late that when I engaged the boss not only did I have the big red circular AOE...
- Moar tank training!
Thanks Sylese, LD, Tessa and Muppet!
Good run, found a better pace.
Darkening Deeps: Draw the mobs together in the big area running down the ramp and kill easily. I need to jump down from the bridge to grab the mobs under the bridge they keep cleaving everyone in the face down there...
- Monday 7.10-2017 RIFT Adventures: Zone Invasions
Monday 7.10-2017 RIFT Adventures: Zone Invasions
Monday saw Fog lead the Rift family on a wild gallivant across Telara on our traditional Monday Rift Adventures.
We track events using rift.events or similar and run, port, summon, rally and fall our way from zone to zone closing rifts, killing invasions and other objectives until the Zone Event boss spawns and mow them down...
- Crifting Event 7/9/17
Thanks all for joining me for another great run. A thank you goes out to INTP for a great recap of the mornings events. Looking forward to next weeks run already. Tokens are always appreciated.

LD was our apprentice "Tank In Training" for this run and did a great job and is sharpening his skills on the 3rd Encounter! We are getting very close to completing this with this group!
Sustains:
-Steadily increasing single target DPS on the dragon when it is on the ground...
- Full Guild run of TD on the spur of the moment! Exciting times!
DC and LD tanked us through TD. DC provided guidance and tips for LD as he progressed through the encounters and he did great. We had some issue on the 3rd encounter that resulted in some instakills. LD and DC are working on figuring out what's going on with that...
- LD Dungeon Tank Runs
LD tanked for us, I struggled with heals and cleanses with coaching from Syl.
We were able to farm Fortress twice which many needed for their upgrade. We burned down Scarn. Muppets new spec was cranking his DPS! Jarren was cranking out consistent dps as usual...
- Thursday Night TD Runs with DC: Slow but Steady - Keep On Progressing.
Slow but Steady: Wow, what a difference some practice can make. For the most part, other than some off tank coaching on the 2nd encounter, DC was largely able to just tank while the raid followed through on the mechanics and dps with little need for an explanation of the fights...
- Have Event Bosses: Will Travel
Fog and Varder led two nearly full raids across Telara for Open World events and bosses!
Before the fight we assembled and discussed some mechanics and the website (market section).

- Leading to victory in a no win battle.
There are many difficult things to be overcome when leading others. Fear of failure, desertion of those who were once willing to follow, being branded an incompetent leader. All of these can lead to a disastrous outcome...
